Chris Gaskin Returns to Prince George for Two-Night Comedy Event Showcasing Past Favourites and Brand-New Material

“Old and New” offers audiences a rare chance to experience two completely different shows and witness the evolution of a comedian in real time

PRINCE GEORGE, BC — Canadian comedian Chris Gaskin returns to his hometown this spring for a special two-night engagement at the Prince George Playhouse, presenting Chris Gaskin: Old and New on May 1 and May 2, 2026. Designed as a unique comedy experience rather than a traditional tour stop, the event features two entirely different performances across consecutive nights, giving audiences the opportunity to see both where Gaskin’s comedy began and where it is headed next.

On night one, Gaskin presents “Past Favourites,” a curated performance featuring hand-selected material from earlier in his career, including fan favourites and previously released material that helped establish his voice as a comedian. Night two shifts focus to “The New Act,” an evening dedicated entirely to his newest material, offering audiences a first look at the next chapter of his comedy.

Together, the two performances create a rare opportunity for audiences to experience the evolution of a comedian within a single weekend — from the material that built his reputation to the work that is shaping his future.

“I wanted this weekend to feel like more than just two shows,” says Gaskin. “It’s a chance to bring my hometown into the creative process — to share the material people already love and then show them where I’m going next. Prince George is where this all started for me, so it felt right to bring both sides of the act home.”

Each evening will also feature two hand-picked local comedians, showcasing the strength of Prince George’s comedy scene and highlighting emerging talent alongside Gaskin’s return performance. The shows are recommended for audiences aged 16 and over and feature uncensored comedy from performers known for their irreverent style.

Described by Brielle Magazine as “The Baby-Faced Assassin of Comedy,” Chris Gaskin has earned a reputation for sharp observational humor and deeply personal storytelling. A national finalist on Bite TV’s Stand Up & Bite Me and a featured performer on SiriusXM Satellite Radio, he has released two comedy albums, Lambda Male and Working With The Negatives, both praised for their strong writing and authentic delivery. He has shared the stage with comedians including Emo Philips, Godfrey, and T.J. Miller. Star Search winner Tracey MacDonald called him “a star,” a sentiment increasingly shared by audiences across North America.

The Prince George Playhouse, a cornerstone of cultural and artistic expression in the city since the early 1970s, provides the setting for this hometown engagement. Built through the efforts of the Prince George Theatre Workshop Society, the Playhouse has long served as a hub for live performance and community arts in Northern British Columbia.

Described by Brielle Magazine as “The Baby-Faced Assassin of Comedy,” Chris Gaskin is one of Canada’s fastest rising comedic voices. With a unique blend of sharp observational humor and personal storytelling, he captivates audiences by contrasting his youthful appearance with a biting, intelligent wit. His style has been called brutally honest, clever, and undeniably hysterical.

Chris grew up in a small town as the runt of the litter, born with a congenital heart defect that kept him on the sidelines and made him an acute observer of the world around him. These early experiences shaped his point of view and created a rich foundation of material. After moving to Vancouver, British Columbia, he took the stage for the first time at the Kino Café. That first three-minute set was all it took to hook him, and he quickly became a regular in the local scene.

Since then, Chris has built an impressive resume. He was a national finalist in the comedy competition Stand Up & Bite Me on Bite TV, and has been featured on SiriusXM Satellite Radio. He went on to win the Champion of Champions and Rise of the Next Comic competitions, showcasing his ability to stand out even in the most competitive environments.

His debut comedy album, Lambda Male, was praised for its sharp writing and authentic delivery. He followed it with a second release, Working With The Negatives, a deeply personal and hilarious hour that solidified his reputation as a comic who isn’t afraid to tackle dark or uncomfortable topics with honesty and style

Chris has shared the stage with some of the biggest names in comedy, including Emo Philips, Godfrey, and T.J. Miller. Each performance further proves that he is not just a rising star but a comic with staying power.

Tracey MacDonald, winner of Star Search, called him “a star.” Audiences across North America are quickly coming to the same conclusion. Whether in a club, theatre, or on screen, Chris Gaskin is a comedy force you won’t soon forget.
